Classrooms on one side of the hall are named after European scholars who traveled to China and made contributions to Chinese life and culture. On the other side, the rooms are named after Chinese scholars who greeted travelers from the west and engaged in east/west dialogues.

The Ricci Classroom
The Ricci Classroom (Room 434) contains a reproduction of Mateo Ricci’s world map showing China, for the first time, in its geographical context, plus a print of Ricci from the European publication of his journal.
