Professor Ochs graduated with honors from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, in Chinese Language and Literature, and then pursued a career in Chinese medicine. Her work combines teaching, translation, and the practice of traditional techniques in Chinese medicine. A licensed acupuncturist, Professor Ochs also looks in her research and teaching at both the approaches and applications of medicine here in China, especially where concepts and training of doctors and medical staff are concerned.
