Before applying to study at The Beijing Center, make an appointment with an advisor in your study abroad office and an appointment with your academic advisor.

When meeting with your study abroad advisor, ask questions about the cost of the program and what steps must be taken through your home university to study abroad. You should review the courses that you will take as a student at The Beijing Center and be sure that you will receive credit for these courses. Ask your advisor about what steps should be taken to ensure that you will receive credit for the courses you wish to take. Lastly, ask your advisor how to register for housing and courses for the semester you'll return to your home institution. Your study abroad office is a great resource, so be sure to utilize it.

When meeting with your academic advisor, you will want to make sure that when studying at The Beijing Center, you will be taking courses that you need to advance your degree. Bring a copy of your degree audit (list of courses you have already taken and courses that you still need to take) and The Beijing Center's course offerings to the meeting.
