Hu Zhengrong

Named by the University of Pennsylvania's Annenberg School, as "China's foremost communications scholar", Dr Hu is the director of the National Center for Radio & TV Studies and the Executive Dean of the Graduate School and professor at the Communications University of China. In 1995 he received the "Excellent Teacher of Beijing" Award and was named "The Best Young Teacher in Beijing" by the municipal government.

Mooney, Paul

Professor Mooney is an American journalist who has reported on China, Taiwan and Hong Kong since 1985. Currently accredited as the correspondent for the Chronicle of Higher Education, he has at various times been on staff at Newsweek, the South China Morning Post, Far Eastern Economic Review, Eastern Express and Knight-Ridder Financial News. His articles have appeared in leading publications around the world. Professor Mooney has been based in Beijing since 1994.

 
             
 

Wiest, Nailene Chou

Dr. Wiest is currently based at Tsinghua University and has worked previously in Shanghai and New York. She has been employed by London-based Reuters News Agency and US-based Knight Ridder Newspapers. She has been an assistant professor of Journalism and Media Studies at the University of Hong Kong and has taught at the State University of New York, Gonzaga University, and Pacific Lutheran University.
